Kwe - Hi there,
My name is Jerry Evans. I'm a Newfoundland Mi'kmaq artist originally from central Newfoundland. I now live in St. John's with my wife and children. A professional visual artist for over 20 years, I have showed my work in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. My art works are in many collections including the Indian and Inuit Art Centre in Ottawa, the Canada Council Art Bank, the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation, the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland just to mention a few. Since 2008 I have made available for the first time a line of products based on my original Artwork. Many of the original works represented in the product line are images of very popular works that have sold out but now are made available in this reproduction format as T-shirts, postcard sets or matted art cards. My original artwork can be viewed and or purchased from the Christina Parker Gallery in St. John’s, the Jean Claude Bergeron Gallery in Ottawa, Malaspina Printmakers Association in Vancouver and Tracy Capes Fine Art in Toronto.
All products listed in this catalogue have been approved by the Newfoundland and Labrador Craft Council and the Provincial Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development and are a member of the Crafts of Character Brand.
Currently I am involved with two projects for the upcoming 2010 Olympics in British Columbia, I am the only Mi'kmaq Artist from this province being represented there. This July you can find me at the Pow wows in Conne River, Flat Bay and a few others in Atlantic Canada.
